Complete a section of the Great North Walk and/or challenge your legs with some elevation – your choice of Option 1, Option 2 or both.

Option 1 – Heaton Gap
When: Saturday 1 August from 8am
Walk: Heaton Gap
Distance: 2.7kms
Elevation: 351m – challenging, best for walkers with experience or current training in their legs

Option 2 – Heaton Gap to Wakefield
When: Saturday 1 August from 9:30am
Walk: Heaton Gap to Wakefield on the Great North Walk
Distance: 9kms
Elevation: 337m – mostly easy with some short steep sections

Cost: free
What To Bring: minimum 500ml of water per person for Option 1 and 750ml per person for Option 2, multiple snacks, optional sunscreen and insect repellent
What To Wear: fully enclosed shoes such as walking boots or joggers/sneakers, sun-safe clothing and a hat – please check the weather forecast to see if you’d like to add a raincoat

We will organise a car shuffle once numbers are known.
