You might have heard that a movement is underway to try to stop Link Road Forest being cleared for future housing developments.
Perhaps you’re one of the 10,000+ people who signed the online petition that will soon go before NSW Parliament, asking for the area to be rezoned as a National Park. Or maybe you’re just curious to check out the many plants and animals that call the forest home.
We’ve teamed up with the crew at Save Link Rd Forest to guide you on a bush walk and see why this forest is worth saving. We’ll be keeping an eye out for some of the threatened species that call it home, including koalas and glossy black cockatoos.
The forest covers almost 600 hectares, spanning both sides of Newcastle Link Road near Wallsend, from the Summerhill Waste Management Centre in the north to Glendale in the south.

If you’d like to discover this precious area in our own backyard, please join us for this free bush walk.
